New Year is the first day of Kartik month of according to Hindu calender. Gujarati new year is celebrated the day after the Diwali and It is the 4th day of the five day Diwali festival. It is also called Bestu Varsh. This new year is Vikram Samvat 2069 according to Hindu calender.
On this day people gets up early in the morning and be ready. They wears new cloths to welcome new year. They climbs up toran of aasopalav at outside of the door of drawing room. People goes to temple and wishes to get good health, wealth and success. On this day people wish Happy New Year or Saal Mubarak to their relatives and dear ones. Saal mubarak is a traditional Hindu Gujarati greeting to use on Gujarati New Year. ‘Saal’ word means year, and ‘Mubarak’ word means good wishes or blessing. People says ‘Happy New Year’ or Saal Mubarak or Nootan Varshabhinandan.
